Deb and Dale Simmons began 'Heaven's Best Carpet Cleaning' in 1999. In 2006, a longtime Beatrice business, 'Mr. Sweeper Store,' was closing its doors. The Simmons saw an opportunitiy to expand their already successful carpet cleaning business, as the two complemented each other nicely. They purchased some of the equipment and inventory and opened S&S Sweeper Store in a new location on Court Street in Beatrice in 2007.
Deb Simmons, a REAP Boost Award winner in 2008, used her grant money to purchase a new inventory of vacuums. Though they may not carry every line of vacuums, they have belts, filters, bags and repair items for just about any machine you might own. If they don't have it in the store, they'll help you get it! The Simmons have continued 'Heaven's Best Carpet Cleaning' with assistance from their son Nick.
S&S Sweeper Store provides service with the sale and takes time to explain how to operate and maintain their vacuum cleaners. For the elderly and those not able to get out, they go to the customer's home to repair the vacuum onsite, or pick it up and return it after it's fixed. "Being able to help people" is one of the greatest rewards of doing business, according to Deb. "Providing service and answers to problems people can't find anywhere else is such a great feeling."
The Simmons demonstrate the winning attitude and hard work that make rural Nebraska shine.
