Beatrice Downtown Mural Work Starting

September 16, 2020 By Mainstreet Beatrice

Beatrice’s first official outdoor mural has begun and is expected to be complete by the end of October of 2020.

The mural will be painted on a Court Street building wall, next to the Holly Theatre at 604/606 Court Street.  The overall project will cost about $8,000, with contributions to help with the project coming from last year’s Big Give Gage Event, along with pledges from the City of Beatrice and the Gage County Foundation.

Sherwin Williams Company is providing material discounts for the project, which is the start of a downtown art effort in Beatrice.

The mural concept was designed and is being painted by Tyler Rinne.

Future art projects are being planned for 2021.

May 28, 2020 By Mainstreet Beatrice

Community shares their smile!

Read more about the story by visiting The Beatrice Daily Sun Article, written by Monica Brich, May 27, 2020

“While the shows are still on hold, Community Players is still welcoming creativity by inviting the public to help take part in a pop-up mural on Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., individuals are encouraged to paint what makes them happy, smile or optimistic on the west side of the theater near the Board of Public Works parking lot.

“It was one of those things that you can’t come into the building right now to participate in community pride, but this is a way that we can facilitate that while still keeping space,” Jamie Ulmer, the Managing Artistic Director, said.”
