Beatrice’s first official outdoor mural has begun and is expected to be complete by the end of October of 2020.
The mural will be painted on a Court Street building wall, next to the Holly Theatre at 604/606 Court Street. The overall project will cost about $8,000, with contributions to help with the project coming from last year’s Big Give Gage Event, along with pledges from the City of Beatrice and the Gage County Foundation.
Sherwin Williams Company is providing material discounts for the project, which is the start of a downtown art effort in Beatrice.
The mural concept was designed and is being painted by Tyler Rinne.
In addition to the mural, Main Street Beatrice wants to bring back vintage-style advertising at various building locations and begin an alley art and string-lighting project.
