Nebraska Governor’s Pheasant Hunt
November 4-5 2022
The Nebraska Governor’s Pheasant Hunt is a 2-day excursion including a classic hunt and a sporting clay shoot in Gage County Nebraska with the goal of capturing the coveted Grand Champion trophy.
Local, national, and international hunters are all warmly welcomed. We are extremely excited to welcome Governor Pete Ricketts to the annual Governor’s Hunt each year since 2015! In the past, we have hosted hunters from Gage County New York, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, and cadet teams from West Point Academy.
Hunt events begin on a Friday with an open shoot at the Beatrice Gun Club followed by a dinner reception. After an early breakfast on Saturday, the teams travel to area farms to hunt. The teams and their pheasants are counted and photographed. After pheasant turn-in, hunters head out for a Sporting Clay Shoot and a lunch of hamburgers and brats. The Sporting Clay totals are added to the overall points. Winners are announced on Saturday after the clay shoot.
